Happy Father's Day!

Coming from a divorced family, I have always struggled with this holiday. It meant visiting two homes. It meant feeling the guilt that you were spending too much time at one home. It has never felt positive. Over the past couple years, things have changed, relationships have changed, for good and bad -but I am thankful for where I am & thankful for the three men in my life that continue to be constant and constantly the dads they are needed to be.

I am not sure I have the words to thank either of them the way they should be thanked or praised, so take it away Kelly Clarkson:

"And all I remember is your back Walking towards the airport, leaving us all in your past I traveled fifteen hundred miles to see you I begged you to want me, but you didn’t want to

But piece by piece, he collected me up Off the ground, where you abandoned things Piece by piece he filled the holes that you burned in me Six years old and you know He never walks away He never asks for money He takes care of me He loves me Piece by piece, he restores my faith That a man can be kind and the father could, stay

And all of your words fall flat I made something of myself and now you wanna come back But your love, it isn’t free, it has to be earned Back then I didn’t have anything you needed so I was worthless

But piece by piece, he collected me up Off the ground, where you abandoned things Piece by piece he filled the holes that you burned in me Six years old and you know He never walks away He never asks for money He takes care of me 'Cause he loves me Piece by piece, he restored my faith That a man can be kind and a father could, stay

Piece by piece

Piece by piece I fell far from the tree I will never leave her like you left me And she will never have to wonder her worth Because unlike you I’m going to put her first and you know He’ll never walk away, He’ll never break her heart He’ll take care of things, he’ll love her Piece by piece, he restored my faith That a man can be kind and the father should be great

Piece by piece Piece by piece"

You all have restored my faith. My faith that a father is capable of unconditional love. My faith that a father loves their kids above all else.

Thank you Brandon for being the best father to our daughter. It is the greatest joy to watch you with her.

Thank you dad for choosing us, when you didn't have to.

& thank you to my father in-law for loving me like your own.

Happy Father's Day!

Until next time, much love,
